The challenge
The company's CEO needed a clear, regular view of the business. The data sat in an on-premises SQL Server database, and getting it into a usable report took manual extracts and restores.
What we built
- A secure web application on Microsoft Azure where the CEO views business reporting
- A Python script on the client's server that pushes data to an Azure SQL Database automatically, replacing manual database extracts
- AI-written commentary, generated with the Claude API, that explains what the numbers are doing
- A dedicated environment set up for the client, so the whole solution can be handed over
The result
Reporting that used to depend on manual extracts now updates from the source system automatically. The CEO gets the numbers and the story behind them in one place. Because the app was built in its own environment, the client can own it outright after handover.
